MOE De Cafe

On February 22, 2010, in Chinese, Life style, Life style | Food, by Kok mING

。。 :hahaha:

Garden @ The Curve

On February 6, 2010, in English, Life style, Life style | Food, by Kok mING

Chinese New Year is around the corner. I had done my shopping except a pair of new shoes… Well, rather than forcing myself to get one for the sake of new year. I’d prefer to live without it.

This weekend, family is not heading back to hometown. So, we have some time to bring our little princess out for a walk. We went to The Curve… pretty disappointed because the decorations were too little. Frankly speaking, it is lack of Chinese New Year feel everywhere!

Hehe, out of topic for the first two paragraphs. Sorry, I could not help myself. :xd:

For today, we dine in the Garden. It is because the environment is so nice and we seldom go out… So why not try this place which attracts us the most!

As you can see, the attraction is the interior. It is so lovely and romantic. Look at it, best spot for couples! :hahaha:

We ordered spaghetti and dory fish. Both are tasty. My little princess love the spaghetti very much too!

Food portion is just nice for normal eater. The food serving speed is very fast too!

Pricing wise, it is reasonable enough. You won’t regret to choose this as a place to dine with your love one.

With the good food and nice environment, compliment each other perfectly. This is definitely highly rated and I will revisit when time permits!

If you have not got a restaurant for Valentines dinner, then this is a good consideration for you.

On January 17, 2010, in Chinese, General | History, by Kok mING

Italiannies

On January 7, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Kok mING

I can remember on my second day with Datacom, they brought the team including me to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. That time was because of the arrival of the bosses from Australia. (I am lucky to join for free food!)

Two years later, my last week with the company. The team brought me to Italiannies at 1 Utama for a farewell lunch! (Started with pizza and pasta, lastly end up with these food too :hahaha: )

We had the restaurant to prepare the food for around 20person and free flow of selected drinks. 🙂

The restaurant is comfortable and the service was OK too.

This is the breadstick, quite salty if I am not mistaken.  Also, it serves bread before the meal.

This salad isn’t that tasty but it was at least a healthy food for the hunger. heh heh heh.

Although it was almost 2 months ago, but I can still remember the salmon pizza taste real good! Simple and delicious! Try it if you happen to be there.

The remaining dishes were the chicken and pasta, both taste not as good as the pizza.

Overall, if you are a pizza lover, then give it a try.

Otherwise, save your money for better food. :xd:

Flashback 2009

On December 15, 2009, in General, General | History, by Kok mING

Another year is approaching to the end. For me, this year looks like a year of change, been into a lot of issues, joyful moments and pressures too.

Let’s start doing a few flashback before the new year resolution 🙂

Start with the Longest Chinese New Year holiday that I ever enjoy during my career life. That is from the 1st to 15th day of January in lunar calendar! I wonder when I can have a holiday as long as this again…

Some weeks after my long holiday, with the correct timing, I got promoted to Professional Services Manager. A managerial role which most people dream of. This is another significant milestones for my career too.

More good news to come! My son, Zhe Yu, arrive on the labor day. Along with my daughter, both of them make up a “ 好”word in Mandarin :-)  . At the age of 30, I have a happy family, sustainable income and lots of friends. My life is perfect!

Since a lot of good news for the first half… there must be some bad news to balance it. During the July – August, I were knocked out by the Hand Foot Mouth decease which also granted me a few paid holiday. LoL.

Well, one year must travel once! That’s the statement from my wife. This year, we landed in Krabi, a very relax place with fantastic scenery and tasty food!

Due to the change of office location, I had no choice but to join the Proton army. I am now own a Saga! Let’s hope it last for another 30 years! LoL.

Work wise, I had completed a project for Netgear with the PM role. This is a project that really brighten up my profile! There are not much of people has this kind of commercial experiences with world class player! Also, this is a project with interesting technology, too bad I could not stay until I watched it go for the public release…

Another memorable moment, I had a handshake and chit-chat New Zealand prime minister. Although I am just a small potato but I feel happy and honor too.

Okay, on middle of November, I had tendered my manager seat and take up an offer to be a software developer again. Talk about rapid changes huh? This is shortest notice that I ever serve which is 2 weeks!

Many people say it is a waste to give up the bright career… very few sincerely wish me all the best on it. Perhaps you see this is not a wise move but at times we do not have a choice too. At least, you could have ask me on the reason for favoring such option before commenting on my decision 🙂

WoW! Year 2009, it is definitely bring me a lot of memories… Been into up and down in many situations but still manage to survive. Let’s hope for a better year 2010!

Have you start to recall things happened in 2009 to see what you can do better? Have you started to plan for next year?

PC Fair December 2009

On December 7, 2009, in English, Life style, Life style | Events, by Kok mING

This is a long awaited event that I pinned into my calendar!

PC Fair is always has its charm on me. A few years ago, I shoot with Ixus 40 and later equip with my 450D. People do not understand why I am so interested and passionate into this… Some even say “Can’t you go on the street and just approach the pretty for a photo? Stop being a pathetic uncle and walk into crowd of youth”… So true and I must try it some days later! :happysigh:

You know… After shooting the event for a few times, it is kind of a must do activity… Beginning, it was merely for blogging the event beauty. Later it turns out to be a group activity. It has increase a lot of laughter and fun factor too. I simply enjoy the time that we walk and shoot in group, get a pose from the model and the moment we share the photos and comments. :hahaha:

Ok… enough “opening”. Let’s get into the content. 🙂

This time, although we still seeing a lot of old faces but we do notice that new faces popped up. :goodjob:

I picked some nicer shots to place into this entry, so it won’t overkill someone’s slow internet connection. The full album is available here!

As shown, 1 round will be 1.06KM, and we did 2 rounds. That quite some walking, hehe. The Gold-man photo is here because it does not fit into the babe catergory. :hohoho:

Lastly, it is my show time with the light saber!

That’s the end for this entry. I enjoyed it very much and I do hope the same on you too.

Happy commenting!

Pontian

On November 22, 2009, in Chinese, Life style, Life style | Food, by Kok mING

。。:happysigh:

After a long time since the last family gathering, we decided to enjoy the buffet lunch at Noble House while my parents in law are in town.

We heard and read enough good reviews which saying how worth to have the buffet lunch with unlimited Peking Ducks. Also the mouth watering dishes such as Shark fin and Crispy Pork at Noble House.

After this tried… I am very sure I will not pay this much of money for this kind of food again… It was over-rated… way too much different from the others review…

Let’s start the show now!

The buffet start 11:30AM but I was told to arrive there 12PM… so we go in late and it was crowded when we arrive there.

Since we were late… I did not manage to shoot the interior because it was really crowded.

As you can see, majority of the food are deep-fried and a small Dim-Sum corner with some steamed food. If you are healthy eater, I believe this buffer is not suitable for you…

From most review, I learnt that the Peking Duck is unlimited supply and you can take as many as you wish. It is so true!

But before we can materialize our dream to have unlimited Peking Duck, it is to QUEUE! :hahaha:

I am disappointed because the Peking Duck was not tasty. It taste like oily sweet pancake…

The crispy pork was not nice at all… Most reviews said the fat melt in the mouth and the skin crispy like biscuit!

I can tell you… Any hawker stall can sell better food then this… :sadism:

The shark fin was the worst, weird taste and the texture like glue… got cheated … :cryrun:

I have tried most food except dim-sum because I was lazy to check on it after too many disappointments… However, the prawn salad and the lamb was notable. At least it is able to gives me a reason that this restaurant still serve something nice and tasty :happysigh:

Over RM50/person, lousy service (no one help to refill water and clean up)… not so tasty food…

I would not recommend you to go.

But if you are keen to try it out, go ahead and enjoy.

Until I blog the next entry. Happy commenting!

Affordable or A-force-able

On November 7, 2009, in English, General, My work, by Kok mING

Let’s not critic on my bad Mal-lish in naming this entry… I have something to share with you. This was happen two weeks ago, and until now, I still find it is hilarious.

Before we start, I have to explain to you about my role. As many of you know I am a person who handle the client engagement for example chit chat with them to find out what they want, prepare a quote / proposal and so on. My company (not my business) is a Software house… To simplify this, you can call me IT Sales-person and we start the interesting story-telling now.

A customer approach me a.k.a. the IT Sales-person to enquire a quotation for a application report customization. Without any delay, I reply with a quotation which is RM1,000. The customer was shocked and reply “Why so expensive?”. The customer start to challenge that the original report that we deliver to her was a piece of junk and why she has to pay for fixing the junk. I totally agree that we should not pay for junk! So I support her and request her to justify it. Sadly, she couldn’t. I couldn’t help her so I advise her to reconsider our quote.

Then she say, proceed with it and she will pay RM400… Ok… This is getting interesting. She wants the work to be completed but only pay 40% of the price? Immediately, I declined by saying that is not enough to cover the running cost and it will be a net loss for my company. Then the conversation start to be not-so-pleasant but I am generous enough to complete the work for her and to discuss the pricing later. But she is not agreeable to that and wanted to rebill me on the time she spent to speak with me… Now, let’s see who wants to deliver the work and who is trying to be ridiculous…

If you find something is expensive, you have 2 choices. Buy or Leave to another alternative. Simple as that.

Even that you own a piece of junk, you want to dispose it. You will still have to pay for the disposal fees, correct?

Again… apply the same situation on KFC Shrimp Stix . Can you tell KFC that your shrimp stix is only 20% of your advertising size, so I will only pay your 20% of the price? I believe the Uncle KFC will turn alive and dip you into the burning oil… :hahaha:

Another example, I am a very difficult customer for TMNET Streamyx. However, I still have to pay FULL subscription fees every month, otherwise they will terminate my account and charge me reconnection fees after I settle the outstanding bill! Yes! They terminate you and still charge you for reconnection… how ridiculous… furthermore the best effort basis is the worst in the world. I wish I have the power to demand but no…

You see, in a commercial world. We are the consumer, the best way to safe guard our benefit is to be a smart consumer. The provider can choose whether or not to deal with you too. So, there is nothing by force…

If the customer can set the price and the provide has to accept it. Then I will go to Japanese restaurant eat the abalone and salmon sashimi for RM1 / meal… because the restaurant are serving the dead corpses of fish without any cooking. I am so kind to go in and eat them all, save their money to dispose those junk too! :xd:

Hope you had a good laugh and able to find some learning points in this entry. 🙂
